LUMBERTON NYE 30 year old female  killed in fatal accident: According to Lumberton PD Chief Danny Sullins at approximately 7:54 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 31. A 30-year-old white female of Lumberton was crossing US highway 96 at Boardwalk from West to East in the southern part of the intersection. The female was struck by a 74-year-old white female from Silsbee who was driving a 2019 Nissan Kick (suv) Northbound in the outside lane. Eye witnesses say the north/south traffic of 96 had the green light and the victim walked into the travel lane in front of the vehicle. Names Will not be released until all next of kin is notified.
